Case Story: Jenish’s Journey

Thank You Kolping India for helping me with finance to complete my polytechnic studies said a grateful Jenish who has received Rs.15,000 from Kolping India under its Vocational Training Project. This support reached to him at a time when he and his parents were struggling to pay his college fees. The financial support was very timely for him to pay the fees and continue his studies.
His father, Vincent is a member of St. Thomas Kolping Family. He is a daily labourer and after COVID pandemic he is not getting regular employment. The little income that his father earns is insufficient for the family to meet the basic needs and educational expenses of Jenish and his elder sister. It is with great hope his father had sent him for technical studies at Morning Star Polytechnic College, Chunkankadi, Nagercoil. Jenish was very good in his studies and had an aptitude to pick up the technical skill quite fast. His parents were finding it hard to mobilise the money to pay his college fees. By seeing the struggle of this poor family, fellow Kolping members recommended the name of Jenish to get financial support from Kolping India Vocational Training Project to pay the fees. The partial financial support has helped him to complete his polytechnic studies successfully. He completed diploma course in mechanical trade and appeared the final examination in March 2024. The result of the examination was published in June 2024. He scored 72% marks. Presently he is working in a two-wheeler workshop at Themanoor, quite near to his house. He is earning a daily wage of Rs.300. He is very happy about the work and has got plans to start his own two-wheeler repair shop. He is very confident now and expressed his heartfelt thanks to Kolping India for the timely support.
