Drawing inspiration from the life and work of Blessed Adolph Kolping, Kolping India has been functioning in two domains as Kolping National Membership Association and a National humanitarian Organization legally registered under appropriate Act.

Kolping Family Associations nurtured by Kolping India have remarkably grown in the south states of India cutting across caste and creed.

The capacities of the marginalised communities are enhanced through formation of Kolping Family Associations also called Kolping Self-Help Groups that functions as Community-Based Organisations (CBOs).

The Livelihood projects are aimed at improving the economic conditions of Kolping members by supporting them with technical and financial assistance to initiate or diversify income generation activities which generate additional income for the family.

Access to basic sanitation and safe housing is a fundamental right that significantly impacts health, dignity, and overall social wellbeing. Still a significant percentage of Kolping Members in India was found to lack adequate sanitation and housing.

Climate Change is a critical issue for governments, organizations, and individuals worldwide in the context of its impact on human population. Drastic lifestyle changes are the need of the hour to mitigate its impact, promote sustainability, and ensure a sustainable future for all living in present and the generations to come.

Kolping India time to time initiates special projects to support the most marginalised Tribals and Fisherfolks communities to overcome systemic barriers and achieve sustainable livelihoods. These projects, often provide critical resources to the deserving families.

Kolping India National Office Team reached out to lone pavement dwellers on the streets of Ooty with ‘Kolping Care’ kits to protect them from harsh cold weather. 100 pavement dwellers in Ooty and the surrounding areas, received a kit consisting of a woollen blanket, a shawl and a raincoat.

Cyclone Fengal, a severe cyclonic storm, causing heavy rainfall in Tamil Nadu on November 30, 2024. Several districts of Tamil Nadu experienced widespread flooding. The poor people were the most affected by the continuous rain as the life and the livelihood of them was fully paralyzed.

Establishing Kolping Regional Centres was a productive strategy, adopted by Kolping India to support Collaborating Partner Organisations to generate revenue primarily to cover the administrative expenses and the coordinator salary of Kolping India projects.

Kolping India had responded swiftly to mitigate the suffering of the people, who encountered heavy loss of property due to Michaung Cyclone. Michaung Cyclone battered Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh of South India in December 2023.

Commemorating World Nature Conservation Day, Kolping India in collaboration with Tuticorin Multipurpose Social Service Society organised a public rally and kickstarted plantation of palmyra seeds in the panchayat land near Anthoniyarpuram, Tuticorin on July 23, 2023

Kolping India, Chennai in collaboration with Tuticorin Multipurpose Social Service Society organised a National Level Conference on a theme, “Conserve Nature for Sustainable and Healthy Human Life” on 22nd July 2023 at Good News Centre, Tuticorin

Msgr Christoph Huber, the General Praeses of Kolping International was the Chief Guest for the National Level Coordination Meeting held on 6th June 2023 at ICSA Paripurna Centre, Chennai where all key stakeholders managing Kolping India programme across India were present.

The idea of a Resource Centre for Kolping India was mooted as back as 2015. The centre was envisioned to be a hub for knowledge building and information dissemination. With the support of Donors, the dream of Kolping India had became a reality with the inauguration of the Centre at Kancheepuram on 7th June 2023.
