Sustainable Social Structures

"What is too difficult for individuals and what they often fail to achieve becomes feasible without much effort when joined forces supporting and strengthening each other pursue their goals."

The capacities of the marginalised communities are enhanced through formation of Kolping Family Associations also called Kolping Self-Help Groups that functions as Community Based Organisations (CBOs). These CBOs which are further federated at village, cluster and district level serves as platforms for people to come together and discuss social, economic and ecological issues concerning the group and the larger community. The members undergo a series of need-based training that propels them towards self-reliance and sustainable development. The Kolping members acquires skills in financial literacy, entrepreneurship, sustainable agriculture, and leadership through periodical trainings from Kolping India. This empowers the members to initiate income-generating activities, access government schemes, and enhance the decision making power of the betterment of self and family.

The collective strength of the Kolping Family Associations fosters solidarity, enabling marginalized communities to address systemic challenges such as poverty, gender inequality, and environmental degradation. By promoting participatory decision-making and inclusive growth, these CBOs contribute to long-term socio-economic transformation, ensuring that marginalized groups become active agents of change in their own development.
