Kolping India National Board

Kolping in India is the second largest Kolping membership national association across the world with the membership of 42,100 in 2025. The members are organized into 3350 Kolping Family Associations or also called Kolping Groups which forms the backbone of Kolping India Social Structures.

Kolping Family Association

The Kolping Family comprises of 10 – 20 individuals who come together at regular intervals to engage in social and economic development activities that benefit the self, the group, and the society.

Village Level Kolping Federation (VLKF):

Where there is more than one Kolping Family Association in a village, a Village Level Kolping Federation is formed. The Village Level Kolping Federation includes representation from all the Kolping Family Groups in the Village. The elected 3 representatives from each Kolping Group in a village represent to form the Village Level Kolping Federation (VLKF).

Cluster Level Federation (CLKF):

Cluster covers a large area involving a set of target villages earmarked primarily to engage large number of Kolping members in our development work. This second level social structure is formed by elected member representative of several VLKFs functioning within the Cluster.

District / Diocese Level Kolping Federation (DLKF):

DLKF is formed with the maximum of 15 elected members representing all CLKFs in the District or Diocese besides the nominated and ex- officio members.

National Board

The members to Kolping India National Board are elected by the representatives of DLKFs through Elections conducted in each Regions or State Groups. Kolping India’s operational area is divided into 3 Regions (State Groups) and 5 Representative is elected from each of the 3 state groups to form Kolping India National Board.

Dr. Maria Soosai holds a Postgraduate in Social Work and a Doctorate in Social Work in Management Studies from Loyola College, Chennai and completed specialized research studies at the TATA Institute of Social Sciences in Mumbai.

He is a thorough development professional and has held several leadership positions in the NGO sector. He was unanimously elected as the National Director of Kolping India in 2019 for a five-year term and was re-elected for a second term in 2024, which is a testament to his visionary leadership and dedication. He also serves an Executive Board Member of Kolping International, Germany.

Prior to his national and international roles,  Dr. Maria Soosai served as the Director of Kolping Kottar, where he played a pivotal role in community development initiatives. He has also extended his expertise as a Development Consultant and Trainer, closely collaborating with Kolping India’s programs to enhance organizational effectiveness and grassroots impact.

His core expertise lies in Organizational Development, Conflict Management, and Leadership Training, empowering teams and institutions to achieve sustainable growth. Under his guidance, Kolping India has expanded its reach, strengthened its programs, and deepened its impact on marginalized communities.

A dynamic leader, trainer, and strategist, Dr. Maria Soosai continues to inspire and strengthen Kolping India’s mission of transforming lives through empowerment, skill development, and social justice. His commitment to ethical leadership and inclusive development remains a driving force for the organization’s success.

Abraham Reddy is an MBA Graduate working in the domain of
Sales and Marketing with PBEL Property Development Pvt.Ltd.
Hyderabad. He is a member of Arunodhaya Kolping Family
functioning at Devagiri in Warangal. He was elected as National
President of Kolping India at the National Board Meeting held on
10 th December 2024 at Joe Beach Resort, East Coast Road (ECR),
Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu.
